Originally from New Zealand, Sam runs a financial strategy practice providing comprehensive financial planning advice to a range of successful professional clients; his practice focusses on attorneys, expats, and business owners. Growing up in Wellington, on the southern tip of the North Island of New Zealand, Sam practiced as an attorney for almost ten years specializing antitrust and prudential compliance. He moved to Atlanta in 2023 to be with is wife and two children – During his transition to the USA, Sam used his experience in financial compliance to run a consulting practice advising financial institutions and lobby groups on best practice compliance, AML, and government relations strategies.

Once settled in Atlanta, Sam joined Northwestern Mutual’s Midtown office as a high-end carer changer, capitalizing on his background in consulting, commercial law, and project management. Sam also has 15 years’ experience in non-profit governance, chairing the fundraising boards of various arts organizations, such as the Fundraising Committee for New Zealand Opera and the Dame Malvina Major Foundation. Sam is fortunate to have been mentored by several strong leaders and has been privileged to lead successful teams in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Sam looks forward to facilitating a lively discussion on ‘Leadership: an international perspective’.
